Tanta National University is a national (ahliya) university set up under Presidential Decree No. 264 of 2025, based in the city of Tanta. It is planned to have ten faculties; seven of them (medicine, dentistry, engineering, computing and AI, languages, business, and humanities and social sciences) began teaching in 2025/2026, with pharmacy, nursing and science to follow.
