Helwan university is located 25 kilometres south of Cairo in the heart of helwan. The university consists of 23 different faculties distributed among several different faculties in the governorates of Cairo and giza Art education founded in 1936. Helwan also has other creative faculties, such as the school of musical and sports education and the school of home economics. There are 13 off-campus colleges, three of which are of an engineering and technological nature, namely, the faculty of engineering at halwan, the faculty of engineering at al ameriyah and the faculty of industrial education

Helwan National University is a national (ahliya) university in Helwan, Cairo Governorate, created as part of Egypt's plan to widen access to higher education with programmes aimed at current labour-market needs. It offers 22 bachelor's programmes across nine faculties: medicine, dentistry, physical therapy, applied health sciences, sciences, engineering, computer science and IT, arts and applied arts, and humanities, commerce and business administration.
