Why LanguageCert Academic?
Accepted for university entry
Recognised by universities and colleges in the UK, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, the USA and Canada, and by institutions in many other countries. Each programme page on this site shows the English tests that programme accepts.
Approved for student visas
The SELT version, taken at a UKVI-approved test centre, is approved by UK Visas and Immigration for UK student visas. Australia's Department of Home Affairs and Ireland's Department of Justice also accept it for student visas.
One test, B1 to C2
A multilevel test: you never choose a level in advance. Your score places you anywhere from B1 to C2.
Speak with a real examiner
The Speaking test is a one-to-one conversation with a LanguageCert examiner, not a recording into a computer.
From home or at a test centre
Take the test online from home with a live remote proctor, or at a test centre near you.
Results in 5 working days
Official results arrive within 5 working days, with an overall score and a score for each skill.

It is recognised by many universities worldwide, but each university decides for itself. Every programme page on this site lists the English tests that programme accepts, and our advisers confirm it with you before you book.
Can I take the test from home?+
Yes. The online test is taken from home with a live remote proctor; you need a valid passport and a quiet room. For a UK visa that requires a SELT, or for an Australian visa, you take it at a test centre.
How quickly do I get my results?+
Official results arrive within 5 working days, with an overall score and a score for each of the four skills.
Do I have to choose a level?+
No. It is one test covering B1 to C2, and your score decides your level.
What score do I need?+
It depends on the university and the programme. Check the minimum on the programme page or ask us; the IELTS comparison above helps if your university gives an IELTS score.
Is SIT Connect an official partner?+
Yes. SIT Connect has a partnership agreement with Wiley to offer LanguageCert Academic test prep, the mock exam and the official test to our students.
