Sohag University

The first university education center began in Sohag Governorate, Faculty of Education in AD, and in 1975 AD, the Faculties of Arts and Sciences were established, then this center turned into a branch of the University of Assiut in Sohag after it was established in 1980 College of Commerce, and in 1991 the work began at the Faculty of Medicine In which a Republican Decree was issued in 1978, and in 1995 the University’s branch in Sohag became a branch of the South Valley University, and its main center is Qena, and in 1996 the College of Agriculture was established, and with President Muhammad Hosni Mubarak’s decision to establish the University of Sohag in 2006 AD added to the university Colleges of industrial education and nursing, then in the year 2008 the Republican decision was issued to establish colleges of engineering and veterinary medicine, and the number of colleges in the university has become ten colleges, and in 2010 and to meet the need of the Sohag society, a decision was issued to establish colleges of pharmacy and physical education.
