Kafrelsheikh National University is a national (ahliya) university created by Presidential Decree No. 248 of 2025 on a 40-feddan site in Kafr El Sheikh city; its campus buildings were opened by the Minister of Higher Education in July 2025. It has 13 faculties grouped into medical and health sciences, engineering and technology, natural sciences, and social sciences and humanities, all teaching on the credit-hour system.
